The New York Times, The Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal: Trump had information about the Taliban being hired by the Russians
Russia's use of Taliban militants to assassinate Americans has been hotly debated in the US and international media for the past few days and recently, some international media outlets, including the BBC, have reported that President Trump was indeed informed by US agencies.
President Trump said in a recent response that he had not been notified by relevant authorities. Russia has also denied that the Taliban were hired by them to kill US troops.
In addition to the BBC English Service, three major US media outlets, the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal, said government sources told them on condition of anonymity that Trump had received such information but he did not take action.
Military analysts say the Taliban have a wide range of new Russian weapons, which they say are remnants of Russians which has also raised suspicions of Russian involvement.
